Solved Remove item from Auto Play menu

There is another location in the Registry that pertains to this. The code (and file) below is the default content of this location. The easiest way of replacing this data is to delete the appropriate key AutoplayHandlers in the registry and then replace it using the file given below. The address of this entry in the registry is shown in the image below.

I would imagine so. That location, and the one that is referred to in my first post in this thread, are the only locations in the registry that I can find pertaining to this.

Hi Wizkid,

Right-click on the item highlighted and select Delete from the menu that appears. You will get a confirmation question, click on Yes to confirm that you wish to delete it.

I have now deleted it but its still showing I am gonna do a registry clean up and a reboot. If it still shows after that I take it there is nothing else I can do??

Ok have gone thorogh the registry and deleted everything realting to Power DVD its gone from the auto play list. But when I put a DVD in auto play flashes up and goes again anyway to fix this?

Think I have fixed it removed it again and added the reg file again. Now auto play comes up with no Power DVD option on it.

Have you done Step 5 To Reset Back to All of AutoPlay Defaults in the Tutorial?

This may well just be one of those quirks that we have to learn to live with from time to time.

Hi,

I understand that, but it did not happen before I tried that Auto Player reg change I have inported the backup that I coreated but it has made no differnce. I have gone right thorugh the Auto settings and options but I can't fix this. Auto play loads up sometimes for a split second and then goes a way again I have tried registry cleaners and this has made no difference to this issue. I know that this is an odd issue but I would like to sort this problem out once and for all so any advice that users of this fourm can give would be grateful. I did like things beating me, I always like to fix the issue.

Hi,

You might try getting this free app. - works fine on x64 machines tho. it only recognizes and uninstalls 32 bit apps ( which is pretty much everything ). It has always done the job for me.

You would need to reinstall Power Dvd and use revo's advanced mode

Power DVD is now removed from the Auto Play menu but the problem is that Auto play comes up and goes away again seconds later. Do you think I would need to reinstall it to correct the issue of Auto play flashing up and going again?

Hi,

You could try a system restore to a point before this happened , i.e. before you did the autoplay reg. change.
