Well hello everybody! My name is 'Arfer'......get it? 'R fer Rat!' :D Thought that you would find that a tad amusing..
Anyways, I live in comfort now at sassofalco's place. I had been lost and wandered around for many days until I reached his place, where I found abundant food and good shelter. You see, he has twenty or so Muscovey Ducks, and for a couple of days I sneaked in and had some of their great tucker. The ducks have a large drake who is head of their Flock, and his name is Duckey-Duck. He follows sassofalco all around the yard, just like a dog, and sometimes he and sassofalco have long chats together. I think that Duckey-Duck tells him of all the ducks that he has 'dated' each day.
One evening, sassofalco spotted me nosing around in his garden eating the fruits that had dropped from the Malay Cherry tree. These are delicious, sweet cherry-like fruits that taste kinda like strawberries, but have nice moist pulpy centres and no stones. Yummy! I was so busy eating that I didn't see him come up to me!
sassofalco could see that that I wasn't a 'nasty' rat, because I didn't run away when I smelled him, instead, when he put out his hand to me, I just climbed into his palm and that was the start of our neat friendship :D .
sassofalco has made me a very comfortable lounge, with lots of straw and stones to clamber over. I get fresh water every day and lots of all sorts of very nutricious fruit, nuts, seeds, and my favourites...carrots. He takes me out each day for at least two hours of exercise and I scamper all over the place, just like dwarf's wee blue mouse. When sassofalco gives a few quiet whistles, I am very obedient and always go back to him. I do like just sitting on his shoulders and get a laugh when I stick my pink nose in his ear-hole......that's loads of fun, especially when he has dozed off in his chair.
My lounge is next to 'Silly-Bugger's' cage out on the Patio. He's a Cockatiel, and a very clever one too! He keeps me amused with his constant whistling of all sorts of tunes that sassofalco has taught him....'Catcall' whistles, and even 'Happy Birthday'. He also talks a lot and constantly keeps asking me 'Are you alright?', 'What's up?', 'Wotcha doin?', 'Come on, hurry up!'.......he even calls me 'Silly Bugger' , but I don't know why?
The only things that I don't really like, are all the Cats that live in this thread.....and that stupid robot mouse of sassofalco's....it hasn't even got a tail, and just sits there doing nothing until sassofalco makes it exercise!!
I'm so pleased that sassofalco let me come visit. See ya! 'Arfer'.
