and good good Jamull.. you will very much enjoy that bad boy. allthough I wouldn't have paid for the FTW edition. cuz my 260 is the stock one and I'm running above the FTW model anyways.. for much less $$ right now my core is at 680 clock. I wouldn't go over 700 either.

yes, the 4870. My Micro Center sales rep told me to wait for the 4870 x2. I have a PC Power and Cooling 1000W 1kW-SR power supply on a 20A @ 120V circuit with a 20A 2400W line conditioner. power wise, its not that bad.

the 4870x2 (R700) is gearing to be the best single card solution EVER.... (until the following month...lol)

& the price because its ATI is gonna be great
hope ATIs driver team is hard at work ...this card could be let down in its infancy if their past is anything to go by...

i have been hearing between $499 & up to $540 on release ..

its a safe bet to say $500 & then a price drop pretty shortly afterward due to nvidia's imminent release of ''GT200B'' the 55nm 280

you're probably right ...but to the enthusiast new tech has to be bought & a new card from Nvidia will steal a good few potential ATI customers.

Price vs performance is important. Most of my Nvidia friends are going to get that card. I am going to wait till Christmas for driver fixes. I am not in a rush. Maybe the price will drop.

smart move.... i always said if i get a 48xx card i would wait a good long while to check driver stability, bugs, benches

i just hope it lives up to its hype b/c TBH i was pretty unimpressed with the 4870 & 50 (with current games & benches) compared to what i was hearing prior to their release

but i don't doubt they will far surpass expectations given time
let the developers & programmers do they're thing.....

i WANT the x2 to blow everything into the horizon ..i want it to be groundbreaking performance !!!!!!

consumption is through the roof. There's no idle results yet due to early BIOS etc etc, but at load it gets 468W [for reference, 4870 CrossFire is 458W] to the 280's 354W at load....

but there will be no end of aftermarket coolers ....

one of the main reasons I chose Nvidia over ATI is that Nvidia cards run Age of Conan much better than ATI cards do. Although that was back in June, so if there was a patch that changed that, I'm unaware of it and apologize :P

lol.. All over one game huh. I see your point. the reason I upgraded.. is for one I had the money, for 2 I was exited to see how the new cards would do, 3 because I knew I could now, and then use the eVGA Step up program when the new 200 B cards come out. Then I'll again have the newest NV. and Mainly so I'm more than ready for when Crysis Warhead, and just as exited or more for the FarCry2 comes out. I want to have something that will let me play in Peace and at ease. or close

p.s. Jamull you should put ur Pc Specs in ur Sig.. go to User CP at the top left. and on the left side where it says Edit signature. Just so we know what you have when you say comments like why you chose Nvidia.. just so we know what you actually have..

You will be seeing more games hitting the top edge of performance. I am glad Crysis has 64-bit.
