No wireless connection

I now have Windows 7 but no wireless. I even added my wireless network. When I troubleshooted this was the response:
Problem with wireless adapter or access point.
Might be a problem with driver for network bridge adapter.

I'll have a look for drivers now. What version of Windows 7 have you got? Home premium, professional, ultimate etc.

Also, is your laptop 32bit or 64bit (x86 or x64)?

Home premium 64 bit. I also feel I should mention this because I don't know if any of this is connected and all details may help. My computer problems originally started with an improper hibernation. This causes Chkdsk to run at startup everytime and my computer wouldn't sleep properly or hibernate and the wireless problem originated. Wireless would come on at time but then it stopped working totally. IN the process of trying to get chkdsk to stop running I tried several things including downloading AVG to do a virus scan. I got the chkdsk to stop and recently fixed my hibernation issue (though I haven't checked if hibernates properly recently) and also deleted AVG after finding a virus on my computer. So as of yesterday the only issue was the wireless internet. When I installed Windows 7 update in the middle of the process, I got a message that said drive X: may be corrupt and to run chkdsk. I clicked ok and when Windows 7 caused a restart, chkdsk ran and it seemed to resolve a problem at a certain file and the whole process went through.

I'm wondering if my Intel 5100 AGN adapter card is bad. Are those easy to replace or should I just try a USB adapter? I am looking for a quick fix. restoring my computer to purchase state is an option but it may not solve the problem. I am trying to start a business and this whole no wireless thing is hurting me!!!!

the microsoft 6to4 adapter is created when your network needs a connection to establish the network settings made by 3rd party applications, for example, windows media player needs a connection to share stuff on your network, but without a router connected, it cannot start service, so it creates it's own, called 6to4 (because it supports IPv6 and IPv4 connection types).
simply have a look in your network connections by opening up network and sharing center, go to network connections on the left and see what we have in there, if you see microsoft 6to4, then right click and disable, restart and see if the connection comes back.

I am not seeing a microsoft 6to4 adapter in device manager or when I click change adapter settings in Network and Sharing Center. What is listed is my Local area connection, network bridge, and wireless network connection.

delete the network bridge, unless you are bridging connections to other computers, its not needed, let me have a good look through this thread and catch up with whats been done and ill get back to you with some practcal solutions.

Edit: ok, had a flick through, it's lucky that i'm on windows 7 right now, sounds to me like your drivers aren't installed, simple enough, get the download here > http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-download.pl?mdl=VGNCS320JP&upd_id=5882&os_id=49

ok, i've got 1 more thing to try and then i think you may need to contact sony, or join up with our sister forums and see if anybody else can help over there, click on the start menu and type "services.msc" without the quotation marks, and look for "WLAN autoconfig" and see if it is running, if it isn't then right click and set to automatic and start the service, then look for "WMI performance adapter" and see if that is running, if not, do the same as the other servcie and set to automatic and start, if this doesn't work then I can only suggest you pop over to here > Windows 7 Forums and see if our gurus' over there can help you a bit more than we could, sorry.

okay I will check that later. If something is wrond with the adapter itself, it would say it isn't working properly wouldn't it? I have a USB wireless adapter I borrowed that I am going to try.

at the moment, i'd say that there maybe something underlying that I must be missing, it maybe software but the fact that your drivers are installed and you're not picking up any access points maybe an indication of a hardware fault, but i'm not dismissing software being the issue, that's why i've pointed you to 7 forums, i've only just upgraded to 7 so i'm not fully familiar with the UI or methods of fixing just yet, but the chaps over at 7 are more than capable of fixing this issue if it is software related.

I did have to start the WMI performance adapter but that didn't do anything. I am using a USB wireless adapter and have successfully gotten on the internet wirelessly. But I am still mad I don't know why I can't get on wither my Intel adapter.
