Latest CCleaner version released

I have v2.21.940 which was my first install of CCleaner (barely 3 weeks old). How do I go about upgrading to the latest version?

Do I uninstall the older version first and then install the latest one, or does the latest version of CCleaner automatically install itself over the older version and overwrite/delete it?

like for example. a friend of mine use this software. and soon after that, he wanted to remove a program but a window pops up and says "***setup file could be not found". in Ccleaner, can I tick everything or there are some options that better/safer be left out untick? :huh:

I'm not completely sure if that may have been related to CCleaner or not. I do not believe it would be though, or at least I have never experienced anything like that with using CCleaner. The default settings are usually just fine.

Reinstalling that program may be able to allow it be uninstalled afterwards.

Wow, this new version detected a lot more registry errors than the previous one.

It does say they've improved detection on 64-bit systems on their forums... :)

I have read on another forum that ALL registry fixers could corrupt VISTA and do not do anything to help the PC anyway. What are your views on the CCleaner registry scanner?
Also, when I run the CCleaner registry scan, I ALWAYS get the problem "unused file extension .DVR". It has to do with explorer. I never use windows explorer, I use PowerDesk. What program could be causing that problem?
