I already thought of that. I have one someone gave me but I don't have the USB
it requires, they haven't sent it to me yet.

I know I'm screwed with this install.
Believe me when I say THANK YOU ALL for all your help with this.
I haven't given up!
I am sure that there is no "Power Options" page in this BIOS. I have been all thru
the "Set Up" options, and it's not there.

No screen saver isn't that big of a deal anyway the monitors do have power buttons ...

While you're at it post the screen shots from the Main section.

Also, I did not realize this was an eMachine - and I positively hate Phoenix BIOSs.

You may need to go back to your old hardware temporarily and see if it still has the same symptoms.

Also, I think we said this before, but with your old components you'll want to make sure the old drivers are uninstalled.

more info on the system but I didn't see the message in time enough to call before

You'll want to make sure the old drivers are uninstalled.

Post the screen shots from the Main section.

My apologies - I saw Sid's esupport machine and made the wrong connection.

Also, that screen shot you show of device manager is not showing *hidden* devices. View --> Show hidden devices. You may also need to run a command in a CMD window: Set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1 and then run device manager and go to View --> show hidden devices. Then you may be able to see drivers that Windows has installed for non existent hardware.

Yeah, that;s it, Ted - and in http://www.vistax64.com/vista-pro/166581-hdd-sleep-5.html#post778347 the method I related was a temporary thing, as I wasn't sure you'd want that always enabled as a permanent system variable....

Get rid of that other driver, and you might want to consider using Guru3D - Driver Sweeper (Setup) download from Guru3D.com
