Explorer Crashes Constantly...

you might want to re-install w sp1 and hold off on sp2. then add things a couple at a time till the crashes start. then you will know. You 32bit or 64?

Of the things you installed I dont see many troubling items, but im not familiar with all of them.

When I get my laptop that is my plan. Obviously, its not OS anymore if it does it on 2 different machines.

But I'm 64bit. I'll install avast! then what should I use for a browser? Chrome? Right now I'm using FF and my lappy had FF also. So I want to eliminate that from the equation. I will leave it at avast! and a browser for a week. See what that brings.

Should I install all the latest drivers before SP2 or after?

P.S. Fry's shipped the laptop back to HP so I won't have it for at least 6 weeks :huh:

drivers first sp2 much later just in case.and do a backup when you have even the slightesst feeling that the app you adding is the crasher.

sorry not enough coffee today. OK lets say you install 5 apps a day. before the 5 do a backup. If no BSOD, install 5 more. repeat.

I thought you had an idea that it was partially due to SP2. Have you looked in system control panel>advanced settings>performance settings>DEP. should be on for all apps

I'm not getting BSOD's I just get the Explorer is restarting... message.

DEP is on for ALL app's like you previously advised.

Is IE the app that the error refers to? if so you can make a DEP exception for IE.
