Driver question

Hello, About a month ago i tried to update my driver for my ati radeon hd 2600 xt from their site and had a problem with the ccc part. I just tried again with just the (driver) and got this warning. Not sure what to do to fix it. thanks for any help.

since you said that your driver installation messed up before can you see if you can unnistall the older installation??

Hi Darkassain, Are you saying to remove all ati previously installed? Not sure what you are asking.

yes i am referring to the older ATi installation

Yea, Why not. LOL! Can i get it back with a sr if things do not work? CCC in add a remove correct?

Hey it won't let me unistall, says set up.exe stopped working. What's up with that?

install Guru3D - Driver Sweeper (Setup) download from Guru3D.com

install then after it opens click on ati display analyse and then click clean....

restart your computer and then try to install the ati catalyst drivers again

Darkassain, I ran the tool. So now just install the driver only correct?

Darkassain, Awhile back a program i was downloading tried to install net framworks 3.5 but it failed. What version do i need and where do i find what i have? Thanks

If you have Vista, it should be version 3.5. In addition to that make sure you have windows update with the latest "critical" files under Windows Update.

Also, Do you have SP1 installed?

and it should be installed....

3.5 is not usually used by most programs (nero i think is the only one that come to my mind)....

Ok, where might i find it on my computer?Do i really need the ccc part? I think the driver is the most important right? Sp1 is installed and everything is updated.

you dont actually have to have it installed....

if you play any games then maybe....
but once their the driver is funtioning....


but if you want to fix this we can explore it further and see what might be wrong with it...

yes you are correct vista already has 3.5

and of course it wouldnt hurt to have the latest and greatest....

but i remember catalyst uses .NET framework 2.0....

Where are you getting your drivers from? At ATI's website you should be able to just dowload the drivers without the CCC panel.

Also, do you have an AGP card?
