Directx 10 problem

If you havent figured out the problem yet its because most today's PC games need DirectX 9.0c and I know you would think directx 10 would have all the files from 9.0c but it doesnt, I play EverQuest and I just reinstalled my OS with a fresh copy of vista and only have DirectX 10 on it and having the same problem :p
Problem is you have to locate your directx 10 folder and extract the redistrubited files in it, havent found it and hence why i am here lol, ill post back when i find it hehe, take care Piper...

Piper, I play Everquest also.

All you need is the new DX10 update that is being talked about here.
It installs DX9C in your Vista OS.

I might add that in Everquest I have found that Vista 64 running 8Gbs of ram is OUTSTANDING.
Apparently EQ is very ram hoggish, it made more of a difference than a brand new high end video card.
I can now be in a raid with all options maxed running 1600x1200 res with not even a tiny slow down or hiccup of any kind, absolutely smooth game play.
Its a shame you are on Vista 32 because 8Gbs of ram in EQ makes a huge difference.

Are you sure the game supports DX10?. I have a Gfx card that supports DX10.1 but still run games like Trackmania United and Crysis in DX 9.0c because it allows for faster fps.Have you tried running the game in DX9.0?.If you try running a game in DX10 and it doesn't support it you will get an error.:D

Everquest is not DX10 compatible that I know of.
However it really doesn't matter because the latest DX10 patch has a backwards compatible stub of DX9.0c that is named DX9EX.

Everquest plays great on Vista 64 just make sure the DX10 is up to date.
