BSOD problems (again)

Did you buy all sticks at the same time? Sometimes RAM is good but dont play together as they should.

Initially: yes I bought them at the same time...

However, 1 set was replaced (RMA) I believe a year ago during our previous 'BSOD' adventure...

So at the moment it's a no... I received them with a year difference I believe

That could be the problem right there. Even if you think that they are exactly the same, sometimes they are not. In any event, continue the test and lets see how it goes. What makes me concerned, is if I pass you on the memory test and for some reason I am wrong, we will never find the cause.

Stick 2 in position 1: pass

Should I now test the other slots or doesn't this give us extra information?

Stick 1: slot 4: pass

I guess we prooved there must be 'something' wrong with the sticks 3 and 4 that were send for RMA (although they can't reproduce it in the shop).

Anything else to test with the memory sticks?

I read the entire thread again and at one point, I think that you had only two good stick in and it BSOD. If this is correct, maybe its the timing.

Correct, although I never got errors during the memtest for the first 2 sticks (I did get them with stick 3 and 4) I also got 2 BSOD's while only stick 1 & 2 were in the computer.

At that time I was playing a game at high resolution and I now switched everything to low details... untill now the issue didn't re-occur.
I also previously had a lot of BSOD's when I was multitasking on the PC (playing a game, streaming TV, ...).

I'll check out the 'Ram timing' link you gave me later today.

Is this the info you meant?

I'll try the CPU test later today. tnx.

First a quick update with good and bad news:

Bad news: I again had 2 lock-ups.
- 1st time the blue screen didn't even show up (screenshot attached)
- 2nd time I got a blue screen (minidump attached)

The good news: I think i have found a way to reproduce the problem, and therefor we at least can check if a possible solution has worked or not.
During the first lock-up I was converting some movies to iphone format (something I hadn't done for ages).
After the 1st lockup I tried it again and about 5 min. into the process the BSOD occured.

So this seems to be a good method to check if I still have the problem.

CPU-z data in attachment (or do I need to do something special in this software to generate a report)?

You are doing good.
Give me the above screen shots for both Memory and Spd, for all the sticks. I need for all the sticks, for comparision etc.

and

Give me the make and model of your computer Example Dell xps 420, which happens to be mine.

Aren't the screenshots you request included in the post above?

I just noticed that if I use 1 core for the conversion that everything goes OK,
If I put it on 6 cores (and 6 files that are simultaneous converted) I get the BSOD.

I put the computer together myself so I don't have a make/number.
I can give you a list of all the parts.

Code:
2X Corsair XMS CMX4GX3M2A1600C9 (so 8GB in total)
AMD Phenom II X6 1055T 2.8Ghz Boxed | HDT55TFBGRBOX
Asrock 870 Extreme3 | 870 EXTREME3
Samsung EcoGreen F4EG. 2TB | HD204UI (add on to my other 2HD's I already have)
Sapphire HD 6850 1GB GDDR5 PCIE | 11180-00-20R

I dont think you gave me all the ram in those shots. I only have a shot of slot 2 and 4.
ok without the make and model, I can get the same information here

currently I only have stick in slot 3 and 4 (as shown in the screenshots).
The other 2 sticks are sent back for RMA but they don't seem to be able to reproduce the memtest errors ...

I did the crucial scanner thing (screenshots attached) but I have a feeling this is not the information you are looking for?

Actually it is what I needed. Wanted to be sure that DDR3 was good for your computer and that checks out.
