Hello!
It seems BlueScreen has been a problem for many Vista users. I was reading the forums trying to find an answer, and it seems the best thing I can do is show you the last minidump it had a problem with and leave it to all of your capable hands to help.

KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (1e)
This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
Arguments:
Arg1: ffffffffc0000005, The exception code that was not handled
Arg2: fffffa600248fa51, The address that the exception occurred at
Arg3: 0000000000000000, Parameter 0 of the exception
Arg4: ffffffffffffffff, Parameter 1 of the exception

Debugging Details:
------------------

Download the diag suite in my sig and upload the files so we can see what hardware you have. For this, open up the start menu, type mem and press enter and reboot. Before that, download SP2 and upload the files.

Oops. I might have done this wrong.
I did the diagnostic suite test thing and it said there were no memory problems found.
but how do you download SP2 (what is that?) and upload which files?

Sorry for your troubles, but thank you for your help!

I have a 64-bit computer thing. But before i download the sevice pack 2, is there a way to check to make sure I have the service pack 1? I was reading it and it said that you would have had to have service pack 1. is that something automatic or something that I need to download first? thanks for helping me through this!

SP2 is here for x86:
...
x64:
...

To find out which one you have open up system properties from explorer

The width of the pointers in the debug spew tells you it's 64-bit. For example:
"Arg2: fffffa600248fa51, The address that the exception occurred at"
That's a 64-bit (qword) integer. Anything bigger than 0xFFFFFFFF cannot be expressed with 32 bits.

"Vertarget" is another way to glean version info.

I'm sorry, I still don't know how to see if I have the first service pack. I have a 64-bit computer.

Your machine was running Service Pack 1 at the time of that crash. It is a good idea - in general - to apply Service Pack 2, and it may help to prevent further crashes of this nature.
