1. To resolve this issue, please try to do a complete uninstall of the
sound card first. You can do this by performing a Cleansweep. This
removes every component that is related to the sound card. Thus,
allowing you to perform a fresh or clean installation. For the
instructions on how to do this, please refer to the link below:
"Uninstalling SoundBlaster Drivers and Applications"
Creative Labs Europe | Customer Support: KnowledgeBase
2. Please swap your sound card to another PCI slot, preferably one that
is farthest from the graphic card.
3. Once you have uninstalled your Sound Blaster please do a clean boot.
A clean boot involves preventing non-essential programs and services
from running in the background. This will help determine if there is a
software or service conflict with the Creative software or hardware. The
instructions on how to do this can be found on either of the link below:
"Clean Boot troubleshooting for Windows"
Creative Labs Europe | Customer Support: KnowledgeBase
4. After performing a Clean boot, try to download the latest driver from
our website. Please go to:

Please also make sure that:
* Sound Blaster drivers are properly installed and enabled.
* The Sound Blaster card is selected as the preferred device for
playback as well as recording
* Volume controls are configured correctly
* Disable any 3rd party audio devices such as microphones integrated
with WebCam, or USB microphone or sound card
Here are some additional information that might help us resolve your
issue:
- Are you able to install the new Console Launcher without any issues?
- Can you try to play other games and see if you experience the same
issue you are experiencing in Battlefield Eearth? Do you also experience
this issue in movie/audio playback?
If this issue only occurs in Battlefield 2142, you may want to check
with the game developer to see if they have any updates or patches. This
may resolve your issue.
If the issue persists, please let me take a look at your system specs.
