wireless connection problem??

Hi

I am using a compaq laptop which i have purchased in april 09 and have been using wireless internet with not a problem since. A few days ago my parents purchased a new desktop and A new netgear router/modem which has been set up perfectly. The new desktop is connected perfectly with 100% connection as well as my PS3 down stairs. But my laptop for some reason when i tried to connect to the (SSID) it doesn't allow me. I will take you though the steps i am taking.

desktop>toolbar>connections>connect to net work>clicking to connect on my SSID.

But then it comes up with. Getting information for Comos(my SSID)>Connecting to Comos>Windows could not connect to Comos>Troubleshoot>Low singnal fix (which it isn't its 100%) or view other available networks.

I have posted on the compaw forums page and had no response and i have contacted netgear.

I have tried a system restore to get back to my original settings but no luck

I beg please please give me some help/advise please.

What kind of security is configured on the router? Do your security settings match on your notebook?

Hello,

It seems as if the encryption key has been entered incorrectly. To fix this do the follow:

Go to the network and sharing center > manage wireless network / connections > find the SSID of the network you are connecting to > click remove / delete > go back to try to connect to the router with the correct information and see if the problem is solved.
