Windows Updates Do Not Install

Most files for Vista will come as Bit torrent files so you will need to install a program to download it.
UTorrent is OK for this

Then select one of these, not the one with the crack we don't want any messed about with copy,and download with u-Torrent.
When the download starts go to options,auto shutdown and check shutdown when download completes.

- I have no original Vista Disc
- No back Up Disks have been kept
- I have all files, folders copied to Portable Seagate 2tb Drive
- But doing this myself with minimal to no experience, I hesitate the overall success based on messages coming from different individuals. I just do not have expertise ro understand.
W/o asking or waiting a day apart for each response :)
Really love the help from all and idea of saving $ ... but this may be beyond my capabilities... especially Vista Reinstall, New Hard Drive Install and File Re-installs etc etc.
One miss step and KAPOW !:p

I did this with Basicconcepts,another member and he is now up and running.
In fact he sent me a private message telling me it was the best computer help he had ever had as he had been searching the net for help with reinstalling and received none before that.

It would help my Pc mini geek ego, if I believed at the end of all this, I would have the printer working again also.

Checked this afternoon with a Pc Retailer ( Office Depot ) Business and they will do it all if I took it in to the shop.

As you are in the United States you might be able to get an install disc from Microsoft Help. They were going to send me one for free but as I was not in America they couldn't because of licensing agreements with suppliers

That is not too bad a price as it includes a new drive but I would want a copy of the install disc as well.
You could do most of it yourself after the new hard drive was installed.
