If needed use safe mode and download this to get the information needed on your Hard Drive. Once you have the manufacturer use that site.

Ill give it whirl ,see if it changes this bogus serial number .

According to Seagate, the following should get you the model number and serial number (though perhaps you've already tried this): Seagate - Determine Drive Configuration.
