Has anyone on this site received any real help from Windows help?
If so how did you get them to help. Whenever I go to them for help I get sent to North America, and I'm in the Southern Hemisphere. When it gets to the point I need a disc they tell me they can only send one to an address in North America. So why the heck does Windows help send me to another hemisphere. Windows help is useless in my experience and was wanting to know if others have had such crap service from them and if not what did you have to do to get REAL help? Thinking of switching to Ubuntu now.

Don't know if you can help as Windows help say I need to do a repair with my install disc but I never had one (OEM) Toshiba recovery disc will not do the job. Need to reset the log on option for RPC from Network to Local System but all options are grayed out. They gave me a reset .bin file to run but that didn't help it made other errors
Now Windows will not remember my DNS settings and I have to reset my modem after wake up or restarts

OK I tried that disc and that will let me start from dvd and do a start up repair but no problem was found . It didn't give me the option to reset the log on of RPC from Network to Local System but there was a cmd prompt option and I may be able to do it from there. I just have to work out how now.

Do I need to do the install option and do I need to put in my key
I tried the start up repair but no problems were found as it starts ok just logs on to the wrong services

Yeah, spent about 2 hours looking at that error code on several sites says my key was not excepted even though its a legal version. Then it said no file was found.Thinking of my options now tossing up between Pirate Bay for another copy of Vista or change to Ubuntu.I still think Bill Gates is a thief, and Toshiba are no better.Seems a lot of work just to change one start up entry from Network Service to Local System.
