Window Experience Index Scores

Nice system. I am getting a new one next week. :D

Mine are 5.2 (CPU), RAM (5.1), Gfx I (Aero): 4.2, Gfx II (3D business apps/gaming): 4.6, and HDD drive and speed: 5.4.

Main score is the lowest one, which is 4.2. (the mobo won't let me upgrade the RAM to more than 667FSB, and the ATI GFX chip (256MB dedicated) is part of the motherboard.

My system is in my sig, and to the left. This is a T60p Thinkpad laptop I prepped up from a T2600 to a T7600, and from WiFi B/G, to a a/b/g/n mini-PCIe card.

I should be getting my W700 Thinkpad next week, which should not reveal anything below 5.5 for a subscore, if not a straight 5.9 across the board. haha...

I thought upgrading my 4gb DDR2 to 8gb DDR2 would of knocked my 5.5 up a bit (shows how much I understand the Windows Experience Index Scores ha!). Also for some reason under SP1 were 5.6 but under SP2 it rose to 5.9 but gaming graphics dropped from 5.3 to 5.2. Hopefully upgrading the PSU soon, so I can upgrade the graphics card to a HD4870 :)

For a laptop I can work with this. This is the way it came from HP and right now I dont think I need to mess with anything. It does whatever I want it to do and im not complaining about that.

This was the cheapest laptop (notebook) you could buy in the US in January '09 and it is pretty fantastic for the price. I actually used an additional $100 coupon for Best Buy which brought it down to $299! No one could come close to the specs of this for anywhere near the price...

Yeah - I had to shop for a laptop because I moved from New York to Shanghai with very little notice and simply wanted the cheapest laptop I could get. This turned out to be an extremely capable machine for my needs. The closest was toshiba at I think $499 but with 1gb RAM much slower processor and 160GB HD.
