I have maxed at 2.7 MB/s thus far from many different sites....although I should be getting well over 3 lol.

For the UK 2.1 ain't bad, I think the fastest available is 24Meg ADSL, I'm sure I will be corrected if I am wrong.

Mine is advertised at 12 or 15 Mbit but in reality I get 23-25 Mbit. I just did a test today and got this:

Not bad but I'm miffed that if I lived 1 mile down the road I'd have a different exchange with ADSL2+ and much higher speeds. As it is there's no news on when my exchange will get 2+ so it's at least 18 months away. Maybe I should move?

Depends - if you're paying for a 1.5 Mbit connection, no, but if you're paying for a 15 Mbit connection, then yes, that is bad.

I`m guessing the difference in speed is because of different network cards (?) - The results are not faked, I have to remove the ISP name due to data protection.
And yes, I can download a DVD Linux distro in about 3 minutes :D

If we have it available in the US, then ultra-Highspeed access has to be available in London - maybe not in *residential* packages, but it is there.

I have a friend who works for a company that provides NOC services to many large Atlanta business - he has access to download and upload (at work) of an OC48 trunk line - Optical Carrier - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia just to give you an idea of the speed. If he did a speed test you'd be blown away at what the site reported.

yeah am only paying for a 2meg connection so not too bad I was getting worse with a talk talk 8meg before i moved - now they are comedians Had no reason to contact vm support so far so no real problems yet .... now I know that's tempting fate hope mi never have to put them to the test.
