WOW Dave!

Great Upload speed!! Yikes!! Excellent PING, do you do any MP gaming, On-Line?

With that PING, you'd tare them up Bro!! :D

Verison Fifo is the Fastest around, IMO.

Or in Japan, the whole Country runs Fiber Optic Cable,

Blazing FAST!! Well they can do that Japan being about the size of California!!

Lot's of Pirating there and China has the Pirate Crown, by leaps and bounds!!

Anyhow, Nice speed you have there. Though, it really, Honestly depends on

the server/site your visiting, Time of day and Traffic on the net.

I'm supposed to get 6mb/s Download speed, Yeah, ok. What a crock!!

No I don't, probably a waste of a good connection :)
That was my best so far, I usually get 20-21 down and 5-6 up. I wouldn't touch fiber up here right now as unFairPoint has made a mess out of things. I moved apartments during their "transition", and 3 weeks later they still didn't have my dial tone set up, eventually went to voip. My speeds before that test were pitifull, that was right after I retired my 7 year old cable modem. I did just get Left 4 Dead, playing the single player now before I start the multiplayer.

Haven't tried Fallout yet, I grabbed L4D off Steam a few weeks ago when it was on sale, I'm waiting for HL2 Ep3. I do PC & Mac repair for living. Just built a new gaming box a couple months ago so I could play the new stuff, old one wasn't up to the task anymore.

Just a reminder for those with FAST hookups -- speedtest.net is NOT the place to test. Their files are too small!

Using speedtest.net:

spped2.jpg

Using the same speakeasy server, but using the test at speakeasy.net:

speedtest1.jpg

Finally, using a 100MB test file from testmy.net and a server farther away:

:::.. Download Stats ..:::
Download Connection is:: 60540 Kbps about 60.5 Mbps (tested with 102391 kB)
Download Speed is:: 7390 kB/s
Tested From:: Broadband Speed Test and Internet Bandwidth Community (Main)
Test Time:: 2009/03/15 - 11:02am
Bottom Line:: 1056X faster than 56K 1MB Download in 0.14 sec
Tested from a 102391 kB file and took 13.855 seconds to complete
Download Diagnosis:: Awesome! 20% + : 92.06 % faster than the average for host (enterhost.com)
D-Validation Link:: Member Stats
User Agent:: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 6.0; WOW64; GTB5; SLCC1; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 3.5.21022; InfoPath.2; .NET CLR 3.0.30618; .NET CLR 3.5.30729) [!]

------

Since the speakeasy server is right on top of the test machine, I think it is the most accurate. Notice how much slower the speedtest.net results are. It is because their files are too small -- to get a good test, you should have a file large enough to provide at least 7 seconds of sustained traffic.

Y'all who tested fast connections with speedtest.net may want to try another test -- you may be surprised!!

When I look at the speed results of the other posters, it makes me cringe.

If any of you are also from South Africa, maybe its time we got together and let Telkom know we don't like the way they're strangling "broadband" here...

Dzomlija~

Where's here?? :o There or Here?? Japan's the place to be for Internet speed!!
IMHO. Also all these Speed test sites differ. Which tells me a thing or two, we need to do the Math. LOL!! ;)

mrgr8avill: I tried Speakeasy and I get slower speeds :/

I tried the same locations on both SpeakEasy and SpeedTests and SpeedTests were higher. I understand that every test you perform will be different..... But I tried it within seconds of each other.

Well I had a nice surprise today.

Was just checking my account on my ISP website and currently I'm signed up to a 24mbps package, but because of my area I could only get 16.5mbps at the time I signed up, so I did a quick check and turns out I can now get 20.5mbps :)

So I sent them a message asking if they can up my speed. Looking forward to my speed boost :p
