What do you want to see in IE9?

Simplicity.

---agree---I do not like all the tabs, add-ons, clutter, etc---(I would like to perma-delete the SEARCH-tab!)---but---luckily the F-11 key on top row of our keyboard still lets me have a fuller clean screen---and sorry, but I now use Firefox and will forever - (it checks for viruses instantly when I download anything!)---can IE do that?---I will never go back to IE even if they bribed me---/though I wish that ALL browsers already have a built-in anonymous surf, like 'Chrome'/---

If IE just worked properly, they might have something. That needs to be fixed before a new version comes out.

Well, you could type them out into a txt file, and copy it to the USB stick, and then encrypt it. Just don't leave it hooked into the computer, or let anyone else get it.

I think he means the passwords that automatically fill out login forms on websites in a specific browser. In other words, he wants to able to export them and import them when he switches computers so that he doesn't ever have to type them again ;)

No offense to IE lovers but..... I don't.

I don't like IE at all, and fully support the people who want to have M$ give the option of Browsers at install.

But thats just me. As to what I think it SHOULD have, M$ should take a leaf out of Google's book. Each tab (this goes for Mozilla too) should be its own process, eliminating crashing all tabs.
Security should also be SO MUCH BETTER. It is the LEAST secure browser and I don't use it for that reason (along with clutter).
I think it should have MUCH less clutter when you first use it, and allow you to add it all in a very SIMPLE way. People are stupid, so keep it easy.

Any other ideas?

~Lordbob

Lordbob
100% agree

Also, in M$, updates are done through IE, so you cannot really uninstall IE.
Can you not/uninstall remove IE?

Hey guys its my first post so allow me to say hello to the forum.

Interesting thread this one with some really interesting comments. Some ppl saying that Internet explorer is bulky and cluttered.. Allow me to retort to that by saying unlock the tool bar and move stuff about :D.( see attachment )

Personally i don't want a download manager incorporated into the new IE9 as I'm very happy with the one i have, that being free-download manager ( even allows me to download torrents.)

My anti virus takes care of bad sites/ bad downloads and to be honest i think having all your eggs in one basket is just looking for problems.... Break the security on one and you break security on it all so a good combination of tools keeps me fairly safe and allows me to do what i do.

What i would like to see in IE9 is the ability to customise it without the need for 3rd party applications, Someone mentioned how they wanted rid of the search bar ? you can remove it completely if you wish heres how.

I want full aero in IE9, Just the tab boxes showing would be nice and the ability to drag and drop stuff as you see fit ( I'm left handed so all the stuffs on the wrong side for me....yes i know you can get 3rd party apps to change that but id like micro$oft to cater for me my needs for once ) Be nice to match the rest of the theme on my machine.

Faster load times opening a new tab as well. I have tried Opera, safari and even FF way back when when it was forced upon you like some unwanted tool bar in a download but i just don't like it and wont use it, NO offence to Firefox fans :D

Anyway heres my minimal IE 8 set up :

There is something I do NOT want to see in IE9: Compatibility mode.

IE8 with IE compatiblity mode? I laughed when I heard it... but sadly turned out true. =_=

Something I would like... I would like it to be faster, to use less memory, to have better support (or just 'to have') for standards. And if it can make my coffee in the morning, I will love it!
