The first thing I remember listening to was the soundtrack to Battle Of Britain (not something I easily admit). After that, I discovered the radio and got hooked on Sweet's, Fox On The Run. When puberty hit, it was every Blondie album until the plastic turned to crackle. This time in my life, I feel, didn't really represent my true taste in music.

With burgeoning adulthood and the discovery of marijuana, I got hooked on English progressive rock, like Yes, Genesis and Jethro Tull, to name a few. I don't smoke much anymore, but I still love those bands.

With marriage and children behind me, I became frustrated with the mainstream, but listened to REM, Living Color and Live.

Now, I listen to anything from classical to death metal - it's all a mood thing. As a muso, I'm very much into listening to world music: Indian, Arabic, African, Finnish, etc.

But, most of all, I try and listen to myself. And, as Simon and Garfunkle said, to the Sound Of Silence.

I have a wide and varied eclectic set of tastes myself, I just finished listening to the entire Judgment Night soundtrack (all tracks are hip hop / rap and metal crossovers, then went to The Matrix OST, then followed it up with System of a Down's Mesmerize, and am now listening to DJ Tiesto's Nyana (Outside disc)

Besides my testimonials, currently I'm listening to the late Nusrat Fati Ali Khan, a bit of Bowie and just finished Arcade Fire. Something that often gets played around here is Smog.

@Oskari - as in Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - wow, you weren't kidding when you said you liked world music....

Curious - do you get translated versions or just listen to the music and choruses?

@loco - HS was fun for a while but I got tired of it - and now that he is on pay per hear, I cannot hear him anymore....

Yeah I know, but doing stage work all my life, Ive had him meltdown a few of my amps. so I guess I'm just used to him. Bad ego issues, but still a crowd pleaser.

Made me some money along the way though. Thats ok, Checking out octobers new releases right now, at least til I cant stand anymore.
