Not really. There are better offerings. And Walmart is traditionally expensive when it comes to PCs - or their systems are really cheapo and poorly equipped as far as the underlying components go.

I got mine for 698...I think it is discontinued right now through walmart/target...depends on your area.

I have a Dv7-1129wm model laptop. It was a good buy compared to others I have seen and used. I have used Dell's....worked horrible. Toshibas fall apart and come with too much Toshiba junk that cont be removed without destroying the OS. Gateway and Acer run on Intel Graphics most of the time so thats why I didnt choose them. Compaq is good..I have a V5000...not the best but is a good buy for around 500 dollars.


Also I am an AMD kinda person and the Dv7 was the only one I could find with a 17in screen with a Turion X2. Please no arguements..only my opinion.

My HP works better than almost every computer I have seen and for the price I got a great deal.

HP is good (especially their prices) as long as you do not need their support which is completely useless - even if you understand the people. That's why I often recommend Gateway. Their service is very good and their support centers (for the US) are in South Dakota and Utah.
I myself own two HPs, one Gateway (all US editions) and one Dell (a European edition).

I don't know if they have hit the streets yet but you definitely should go for one with the nvidia ion thing. They are the next generation portable platform, far superior to anything we'v seen, both in performance and battery time. Just wanted to put it out there :)
