Warcraft 3 Problems

i've tried that. this is annoying. i really want to play. anyways, i've tried something else. i've downloaded the game from the blizzard account store and when it finishes it doesnt do anything. so i go into the folder it created and double click the installer. a w3 menu comes up and says play frozen throne. so of course i click it and the menu disappears then just comes right back up. is there something i;m doing wrong? please help. thank you

well i just went to the eb sale before and thought i'd pick up wc3 + the wc:FT expansion since my bro also plays (cd key conflict!)

anyway, i have vista ultimate and couldn't get it to install, but i found a fix after quite abit of searching.

1) Go to Start > Run > type regedit
2) Navigate to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Explorer\Shell Folders"

if there is no string in there called "Programs" put that in with the value:

C:\\Users\\%USERNAME%\\AppData\\Roaming\\Microsoft\\Windows\\Start Menu\\Programs

and you can get the installation to work, game works fine too.

this may work for other games with the same problem. thought i'd post it up incase some had the same issue...

my problem is kinda like this but when i go to install WCIII:RoC it gets to the install screen and i press the install button and then nothing then it says the program is not responding, i have tried a few different things including: updating directX, messing with the regedit stuff the programs string was already there

i just cant figure out why its messing up its a clean disk works fine on my other comp which is running XP

i have also tried to go into the disk and run as admin and compatability but when i go in the right click the say not responding and windows explore closes.

any help would be nice thanks.
