When you go into the bios and change the boot order to boot from a dvd
Put in the dvd and restart and you will be asked press any key to boot from dvd
If you use a Vista install disc on the left hand side after it starts to boot is the option repair my computer this is on a screen that also says install Vista
Since you don't want to reinstall try the option repair my computer
