I've recently come across a problem when using Internet Explorer while running under Vista.
I wanted to download Adobe Flash Player 10 from their site, but whenever I click on the link, instead of getting the Install/Don't Install prompt for the ActiveX plug-in, all I get is a window asking if I want to save the file, and it is listed as a Binary file.
Attached is an image of the download window.
Now, this woudn't be a problem, as I could just run it as normal after downloading it, but when I click Save File, it downloads it, and then the file disappears. I can't find it anywhere!
So, my problem is, how can I get the Save File prompt to stop showing up, or if I do have to save it, how can I choose where it goes to?
Really, I've tried this on all different sites, and anything I try to download looks like this.
