If the above does not work
Use Ubuntu.
If you cant get it to work, you have a hardware problem. If you can get it to work back up your stuff and we will go from there
Use Ubuntu Live CD to Backup Files from Your Dead Windows Computer - How-To Geek

Try this again, if it does not work, its a hardware problem. Someone with knowldege about computer hardware will have to take a look.

I have succeeded in getting ubuntu onto a DVD and it works with my broken laptop. I've gotten all my files out of the computer through Ubuntu and backed up, so I know that my computer is still in there somewhere! Thanks for that! So, I've backed up my stuff. What now?

THANK-YOU for all of your help, all of you. I thank-you so much, but my dad decided to just get Windows 7 on a DVD and he downloaded it to the computer and it worked! So when I start my computer it works, no black screen.

Thank-you richc46 for the Ubuntu program! That helped so much because I wouldn't of been able to get all my precious files from my old computer out without your help!
