I am having a problem with my HP Laptop running Vista Home. This is an intermittent problem (once a day usually, sometimes more often) but very frustrating none the less.
After I wake from sleep/standby my machine will not connect to the internet. The wireless assistant says it's connected and the signal is excellent but it doesn't work. So I go to restart and the computer gets stuck on the "shutting down" screen and never shuts down. I have to hold down the power button to force a shut down. Once it reboots the computer runs fine. This only happens after coming out of sleep/standby mode. I am using McAfee VirusScan and windows firewall along with System Mechanic. Any help/info will be greatly appreciated.
