RIGHT HERE IS THE STORY:

When it was fixed, I was at my sister's flat (where the wifi wasn't working initially, but uninstalling the yellow flagged driver fixed it, so i just assumed it had fixed my wifi completely!)

but i've just got back to my own house, and the wifi here still isn't working. local only until i plug in the ethernet cable.

What do I do?

Appreciate any help you can give me.

Hey, thanks for replying so quickly. Yes, I ran the file but I'm not sure if it worked. It automatically restarted my computer.

There are no yellow flags in device manager.

Also Could you go to Start>Control Panel>Networking and Internet>Network and Sharing Centre

This will Display a Brief Network Map There should be a Red X Between your Router and The Internet Icon

Also could you boot into Safe Mode with Networking and test your connection to see if it works

Mmmmm have you tried Upgrading the Firmware of your Router and what is your ISP (Internet Service Provider) ?

sorry i know this may sound stupid. but how do i upgrade the firmware (althought, sure it should be up to date because it was only installed a few weeks ago and it works for my flatmates laptops, and my iphone.).

I'm in the UK using TalkTalk.

Hey,

I am sure your Firmware isn't the Problem

Just One thing to make sure for certain it is your Wireless card or if it is your Internet Protocol Settings

Could you please plug in an Ethernet Cable and check the connection if it connects

Hi, sorry! I thought I had written originally that I can use the Ethernet cable to connect to the Internet. That is how I have been posting on here haha. And I don't think it would be my network card, because my laptop works with my school and my sisters and starbucks wifi. :S

Okay I have also noticed you have some IPv4 Address having a preffered IP Address could you please turn this off

Click Start>Control panel> Network and Internet> Network and Sharing Centre

Then Click View Status by your Netowork signal

After that click Properties

Please give an Admin Password if asked

Then click on:

Code:

Internet Protocol Version 6

And click Properties

This will bring up a Window Please make sure that it says to get IPv6 and DNS Automatically

Do this for Internet Protocol Version 4

Also Do you have an Installation Disk?
