Vista ISO download

Hi again and sorry for the late reply..
I've got a Sony/Vaio laptop,, 32-bit Vista Home Premium SP2.
My built-in Recovery partition has no service pack and I think its corrupt.. so its useless.
I've got a valid OEMact product key on a sticker. I've never used it..
I think a part of current system and registry are corrupt.. But. its still boot-able..
Everything I have is on this laptop since 2007 & I cannot afford to lose anybit of it,, so please be patient with me..
Meanwhile,, I have a couple of questions to ask if I may..
1- Can I use a "32-bit Vista Ultimate SP2" to do a Repair Installation on a "32-bit Vista Home Premium SP2" or its only good for a Clean installation? or I can do both?
2- Do I have to apply and activate my OEMact product key when I do a Repair installation? or that only apply for a clean installation? or I don't know.
3- Can I use a CD to burn the Vista ISO file? or it has to be a DVD? or I can use both? lol@myself,, I'm not cheap, I'm broke..
4- Do you know how many DVDs may I need (more or less) to run a System Image using Macrium 'afterwards' when I'm done with the Repair Install or the Clean Install?
- Well.. I don't have enough DVDs nor an external Drive at the moment for the Image Backup, or for any regular backup.. yes I'm broke.. and therefore I prefer to do the Repair Installation if possible.
I thank you for your Help, your advice and your Time..
My E-Mail is:
Have fun

Your subscription options are set to instant email notification for this thread, any replies will generate that not just about your post.

You cant pick that as an option,

You might want to change it to through control panel only like I have above,

You can do that here,

You'll see default thread subscription mode,

once changed you need to save changes at the bottom.

Please note that as of yet I have not received a reply on my main message/request that was sent yesterday!
Thanks

Are you trying to get a copy of Vista still? That's the main purpose of this thread, if you have other questions you might be better off starting a separate thread.

Did you mean to write ultimate above? You asked for home premium and then wrote "ultimate... (that you're sending)"

You need to use the same version to do repair installs, its pointed out here in this tutorial,

Repair Install For Vista

2017-02-27_22h43_14.png

He needs your email to send you a link too. Be a little patient, hello doesn't really summon anyone.

Yes you can use the same media to do repair and clean installs, it has to match what you already have though, if you have 32bit home premium SP2 that's what you need to do a repair install.

1. Yes, with Vista the ISO covers all versions. Your license key determines which one you get.
2. Doing a repair install shouldn't necessitate reactivation but if it does and you have trouble it always tells you that you can phone in to Microsoft and they are usually helpful in that regard.
3. Those questions are best asked on Macrium support forums, if they exist as I have no idea. Technical help is not for this thread anyway and should be posted elsewhere in these forums.
4. It all depends on the size of your backups and what media you are using, DVD-R 4.7gb and DVD-R DL 8.5gb or maybe you are using rewritable discs- you do the math - best ask Macrium support I think

Hi Peter (Ex_Brit)
Thank you very, very much for your patience and wisdom..
Your late interference and late reply have showed all about your skills, experience, knowledge, and good judgment in understanding, analyzing & dealing with people sensitive & complicated issues & you have proven that your way of diplomacy and your talented approach would raise you to the the top to be the right delegate that make good sense in sorting out various thoughts and theories and answering all kind of questions in order to satisfy everyone's need (in the world of Vista) and beyond.. yes maybe you're an old man (like myself) but for sure You sound as Young wise man as I see you thinking and acting and maybe Wiser than all as well..
You may wonder what led me to get to this conclusion about you.. well the answer is simple:
In the last few days I camped out by the vistax64 streams and threads,, and I read most of your Posts and Replies.. you're impressive about the way you deal with people and their asked questions. wo0w..
I wish you stay healthy, You long live and you keep the good work.
I thank You for the Vista ISO copy You have sent me. I'll go thru it and I'll let you know if there is any......
All the best.
