Hi Peter,
I don't know if you remember me by now..but you supplied me a link for a download of vista home premium sp2 32-bit. Of course I was able to download & burn my iso file. I've already installed it on my laptop, actually more than once. During the installation process, I typed in my original vista home premium product key. I guess microsoft didn't like it, because I got the notice that it wasn't activated and that I only had a certain # of day's before automatic activation would occur. The first time I installed vista, I ended up calling the microsoft automated activation line..the computer generated voice speaks so fast that I kept having to say repeat to get the entire confirmation #. I really wish there was aneasier way to get my copy of vista activated. Also, while I'm thinking about it..since installing your version of vista w/sp2, for some reason I can't download/install any windows updates.
Thanks,
David

David I would imagine it's because the installation isn't activated yet...once it's activated updates will work. I've done phone activcation on a few occasions and yes, you need extreme patience to get through it, but I seem to recall that there was an option to speak to a live person, was that not offered? I could be wrong there. However you really should be asking this question in a thread devoted to installation of the OS rather than this one which is solely to get a download link.
Perhaps here: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-vista.html

Good luck ;-)

Hi Peter,
Thanks so much for your reply, what you stated makes a lot of sense..I'm not trying to do anything illegal anyway, the laptop I'm typing this reply on came with ms vista pre-installed. For some reason though microsoft doesn't like the product key that's printed on my c.o.a. label on the bottom of my machine. I'll take your advice and think about posting a question or do a search concerning this topic in a different section of this forum. Of course if all else fails I can always contact microsoft to get 'officially' activated. Have a wonderful day and of course THANK YOU !!
David :geek:

P.S. In some ways I'm envious of you living in canada..I've always wanted to visit your beautiful country, but I'll probably never make it now.

Yes, with all that's going on in the States with almost uncontrolled arms proliferation not to mention Trump - glad I'm here.
Like you I can no longer afford to travel - fixed pension. Something that I really miss.

The email contains a link on how to make a bootable USB stick if you prefer that over installation DVD media.
