I have an older Acer laptop that I recently had an issue with the software that came factory installed on it. I did manage to get the operating system back on it, but what a hassle I had..that's why I'm seeking a copy of Vista Home Premium 32-bit with SP2.

Hi Peter,
So far I haven't been able to download the file successfully on the 'MEGA' site, I get errors..and the highest % I've been able to download is only 34 %. Like you said previously, sometimes that site isn't very reliable..guess I'll try again in the morning.

Use Firefox (or Chrome) and use the "Download through browser" option. Leave the page open until the download is complete. A lot also depends on your Internet connection.

Hi Peter,
Just a quick update..I was in fact able to download the file, to do so however I had to switch to my main computer that's running windows 10 pro . On that computer I use google chrome as my default browser, when I clicked on the download through browser button the download started almost immediately..and I wasn't prompted to download an app. like I was when I tried to download the desired file on my older laptop using the firefox browser. The file downloaded correctly with no errors received like when I tried using firefox . Something rather strange happened though..on the MEGA site it showed the download completed @ 100 %, then the google chrome download appeared @ the bottom of the browser page and seemed to show the file downloading once again. I don't know where the downloaded file from the MEGA site went, all I know is I do in fact have the zip file in my download folder on my hard drive. That seemed rather strange to me..I'm really considering upgrading my older laptop to windows 7 home premium. Thanks..have a great day !

When it offers the Firefox app it also offers (in faint print) a link to "Or download through browser" that should have worked fine in Firefox as I use it exclusively.
That apparent second download was probably Chrome verifying the file...it does weird things at times.
I upgraded my Vista Ultimate to Win 7 Pro simply so I would eventually be able to upgrade to Win 10, which I haven't yet decided on. However, had to do all kinds of fiddles to bring back things like Windows Mail etc. Vista in my opinion, was the last "great" OS that Microsoft ever put out and it gets worse with each "upgrade" from there.

Hi Peter,
I un-zipped the file so as to reveal the ISO file , I used the windows 10 built-in disc burner to burn the ISO file to a DVD. Everything seemed to go smoothly, I set the disc image burner to verify the image after burning..it didn't find any errors, I even received the prompt that the software was 'finalizing' the disc. I have my vista laptop to boot to the cd/dvd drive first, I just thought I'd check and see if the disc could be read correctly. The light on my cd/dvd reader blinked like it was trying to read the disc, but I never received the onscreen prompt like you normally would to ' boot from disc '. Instead..the vista operating system loaded, now I'm wondering if I SHOULD have use the ImgBurn software you suggested ?

Update : I just tried this disc in my main computer, it read the disc correctly..that proves to me the file's are seemingly correct on the disc that I burnt. Now I'm wondering if the issue is with my cd/dvd drive on my older laptop that has vista installed on it..maybe I should just give up on this.

The test is, will it boot. Try rebooting with the disk in the DVD drive to see if it offers to boot from CD/DVD....after a few seconds it will ignore that and boot normally, so just a test.
I don't think Windows DVD maker allows for bootable media, that's why I suggest IMGBurn in my emails always.
