thank you sir! ...but ya know wat? ...gonna leave well enough alone ... the problem is minuscule for when I open Help and Support, I would hit the Browse button anyway, and so that works, and when I click on Help anywhere else in the world of Vista, the appropriate Help opens up for me... maybe someday it'll fix itself, but for now... I got bigger bugs to squash...

I've had a bunch of HP desktops and I've done the same thing on several. I just type in once the help dialog thingy is up.
