on everest look at left hand side, computer. expand that branch and select sensor where it will display the temperatures of your CPU, hard drives and video card

how do i know if it's too hot or too cold?

you also might consider a driver cleaner to uninstall your dispplay driver then reinstall the driver.

Already tried to reinstall, but when removing, my internet connection seems to be deleted as well (my network card seems to be NVIDIA too)

you reinstalled but did not clean out the old drivers. you have broken driver bits left over that are more than likely causing your problems. download the driver sweeper i linked to and follow the instructions for it and see if that fixes the problem

copy and pasted them here, evertest will do that for you

Not so sure about that.
If I remember correct, the error was already there.
I updated to hope the problem was solved.
Couldn't it be the update itself?
I read in the list of 1001 solutions, that it could be the physics-x (or something like that) causing the problem.

i am not sure about that as i run ATI video cards so i hope some others look at this thread who use nvidia cards.

it seems that on the nvidia website's support they seem to "ignore" this problem as a lot of treads are posted on the forum without anybody being able to give a solution.
Also when i tried contacting them, they just ignored.
Is it maybe NVIDIA's incompability with x64 vista?

do you have both service packs installed for vista? if not install them and look at this An update is available that improves the compatibility and reliability of Windows Vista

this is one reason why i said bye bye to nvidia video cards and chipsets few years back and do not regret the decision at all

I currently have SP2 running

try that update and see if it helps, another drastic measure might be to reformat the hard drive and reinstall windows but only do that if you know what you are doing
