Hello everybody,

I am not sure if I am right here in this section but I will hope so.

I purchased today a new laptop, and wanted to delete the Vista home version and install my XP professional.

But nothing.

The problem: I already set in the BIOS to boot from CDROM first (even tried to start only form CDROM) but not luck. He gaves me the message that the boot devide is not correct. I tried the same CD on 4 other PCs / Laptops today and it worked fine with no exception.
I was tiered so I Installed Vista Ultimate. Now I am having the following problem: In the start up menue I can see two VISTA versions (the boot process) but I just want one. So how to erase completely the old (first Vista home OEM)?

Second I want to solve the problem and boot from my CD - ROM drive and install XP on a second partition. But this seems impossible.
I am having an ASUS PRO 61Q notebook

Can someone give me quick a helping hand?

I wan the following config in the end:

C drive: VISTA ultimate
D Drive : XP Pro

comfortable choose at start up which version to use

I cannot do at the moment:

1. delete the first OEM VIsta installation
2. Boot from CDROM or USB drive
3. I do not have a disket drive

Please help :o
