user profile service failed the logon???!!!! help.

When I try to log on to my laptop, it says:

'The User Profile Service failed the logon.
User Profile cannot be loaded.'

This happened about a week ago and I can't log back on!

Just before I logged off before the problem started I had clicked cancel on my updates. Has this affected anything?

I don't know how to sort this out. Do I need to take it to a shop to be fixed? Or can I resolve the problem myself?

Also, I don't have any other accounts on my laptop, not even a guest account.

Any help would be appreciated
