updates, not installing

when i bootd up this morning my security had warnings that i wasnt protected, so i went to security center and tried to update, downloading started about 30% through download stoped and said unable to complete. so then i went to windows update and noticed i had three optional updates 1 was a def 4 microsoft security essitls, i installed that update like i do all definitions for microsoft security, then the security was back to protected. i really dont think this is normal but i am a beginer so idk. o and it was my virus and spyware that was unprotected. can any1 share there thoughts and mayb tell me what i did wrong?

It me again. You can run but cant hide LOL
Change the update setting to notify and not install automatically (MSE will install automatically but thats ok). Then install one at a time, not all at once
The second tuesday of each month is called patch Tuesday. That is the day a lot of Updates are sent. Watch for them and do one or two at a time.
What happened was not normal, but it seems ok Now

Put this in favorites in case of problems

thanks rich, thats good info 2 have. im slowly getting this thing lined out. o yea im working on geting the drivers 08 or later updated like u said, im haveing a problm when i go to the manufactr i seem to always b sent to a diffrnt company to get the driver, and u know whats next try this try this free will build ya spaceship if nya click here, lol. am i missing something? thanks again for all ur help, i hope u guys r getting paid for this if not u should b
