Somewhere, probably on one of these forums, it was suggested I use Microsoft Fix it to clean my Windows update queue, but its not working. I let it run for over an hour and a half. It never moves past 'Installing PowerShell please wait'. Update sits at 'downloading 0%' and never downloads the updates.
When I do get Windows updates to download in the past, the Sound chip/RealTek Digital output produces no sound.
I've checked the HDMI cable, its fine when I use my monitor as a television. Plug the cable back into the computer; no sound but I get a picture. Also, not currentl;y getting sounds out of my computer. None.
Sometimes deleting all of the sound devices in Device Manager brings the sound output back, occasionaly it doesn't.
Any suggestions on how to fix these two problems ?
No, getting another computer, nor upgrading the OS, aren't options.
