Sorry for the delay.... I couldn't copy and paste from the file, so I had to burn the file to a CD. It did let me select and copy and paste from the CD??? Very Weird???

Just tried to boot the computer today and I am getting Windows failed to load 0x0000221 VOLMGR.SYS is corrupted or missing. Keeps getting worse. I also tried running diagnostics on the hard drive and everything checks out OK. I also ran memtest on the memory and everything checks out OK with it also. Not sure what else to try.

Thanks. I have tried the start up repair with no success. Everything seems to be running fine again other then not being able to copy, paste, move, drag and drop or delete.

nuwk3r, I found this on another forum. It was not Vista specific but they encountered the same problem and were able to fix it by repairing Internet Explorer. It's worth a shot. Can't drag and drop or copy and paste!! I'll keep searching to try to help you find an answer.

Nuwk3r, check the settings and options in Rocket Dock to see if there are any options that may interfere with Windows C&P, D&D. Also, if you are able to disable this program try disabling it and see if you get your functions back. I don't know how hard it would be for you to uninstall Rocket Dock and then reinstall it and getting it set back the way you want it, but if this program is causing a conflict with Windows functions, that might be a better option than what may be your last resort, which would be a system restore.

You can hide RocketDock and stop it from rendering completely by pressing Control+Alt+R. Press it again to make RocketDock appear.

Hey thanks for all the help RichFrogg! I think you are on the right track with thinking Internet Explorer is causing this. I just reset all the settings for IE in the advanced tab of the internent properties and restarted but I am still getting the same problems. I downloaded IE 8 for Vista x64, but it fails to install everytime. I can not find away to uninstall IE or do a repair for that matter in Vista. Also when I check to review update history it shows a list of all Windows updates, however when I use the uninstall programs utility in the control panel it says that there is no updates to uninstall. I agree with you RichFrogg, I think that IE is the causing the problem.

I am 100% sure that explorer is the fault. As a test I opened up Firefox and browsed to the C: drive and opened the folder through the browser and guess what!? I can copy, cut, paste, drag and drop and even delete with Firefox. Now I just need to figure out how to repair the corrupted explorer!!:D
