Trojan Help Needed

Thanks for all the suggestions. I booted the system into safe mode. Ran the software's such as malware bytes. super antispyware, trojan remover, windows malicious software removal tool. And they picked up approximately 50 infections & 3 different trojans. but still one file is shown as as infected I cannot find the file & the registry key associated with it as the trojan remover software states as the file is hidden and it could be a heuristic infection. But the system is working good now, as I was unable to open gmail in IE & had to use safari for same. I would run the scan again also add the name of the file which is shown as hidden trojan infection on the system.

P.S. - The file is shown only when I run a fast scan using trojan remover & when I run a complete scan it does not find the infection. And it picks up smitfraudfix as an infection on the system.

I have uninstalled Mcafee from the system as it is good for nothing. And would download avg or avast. And also do a Google search to check any possible way to remove the infection. As this time i am not going to do a complete reinstall of windows again.

I would recommend Avira
Free antivirus - Avira AntiVir
It is a very good program and picks up a lot.(personal experience)
Also, your would probably want to download Spybot S&D for Spyware removal and Malwarebytes for malware issues.
Those last two are what i use along with Comodo Internet security(firewall and AV)

Ben,

Just to let you know the term "Malware" is a general term used to descibe most, if not all malicious nasties. That includes viruses, spyware, adware, trojans, etc. :)

I'm a bit late on this one but anuj_chadha have you deleted all your browsing history and cleared all your temp file folders. These are places where the original infection starts, if these are not cleared the trojan dropper can reinfect the system.
