The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion issue---My game won't work

ive had the game work b4 and i have all the udates for the card it runs fine till its suposed to get to the menu. the background movie with the map moving is there but no menu

It's due to ATi's Open GL implementation and HDR shading. Basically the card is rendering everything as black.

Turn off HDR rendering, and you'll probably see stuff then. There are workarounds, google Oblivion and Ati HDR. Basically you need to figure which shader set the game is using, and copy the HDR shader set and rename it. Easy to do, you just need to know what to do.

I'll look around and see if I can find the fix. In the meantime you can try disabling catalyst AI and see if that helps. Catalyst AI and Bethesda games don't mix well.
