Start up items

Good day,

I've got a few start up items which I cannot figure out how to disable. Using Windows Defender I can see all those items; and there is a button on the bottom right corner to remove them; however, the button is grayed out. I know this is an easy one, but I can't seem to find how to disable those guys.

Also, one of the best tools I have found that allows you to adjust things that startup from different areas on your system is AutoRuns for Windows.

Thanks for the previous replies. Before I go installing more software, I'd like to try and figure out why Defender doesn't work for me.

I am the computer administator and I'm on my login, but the disable and remove buttons stay grayed out when I try and use defender to remove start up items.

The buttons will be grayed out for Vista system programs and device drivers in Windows Defender. You can use msconfig instead though for these. See OPTION TWO Method Two in the link above for startup programs for how.
