start GigaGet minimized to tray?

I'm having a tough time trying to start Gigaget download manager via another program, and have it start minimized to tray. Seems to be no option in the program.

If I just start it, then launch NirCmd to send the window a 'hide' message, it minimizes to tray, but then the Open tray menu command won't work. It will only show the button on the taskbar. The window won't actually open.

Likewise, sending it a 'min' still shows the button on the Taskbar. A real pita!!!
I'm doing a little program to launch firefox(or any program really but this is what I'm using it for) and the download manager together, then when I close Firefox, the download manager is killed. All that works, but I hate having to click on the 'x' on the right corner of GigaGet to send it to the task tray.

dont know if your interested in a 3rd party solution but there is tray it. minimizes to task or system.

Ok, easier just to make the window active and send Alt F4. That seems to work.

Put a shortcut to the program in the startup folder and then choose start minimized in the shortcut properties.

The minimized maximized has no effect. It overrides handling when the close 'x' button is clicked. That's why. Also if you select Close in the SysMenu it hides rather than quits. So I just wrote another program that makes the window active, then sends Alt-F4. Clunky but it's only for me. If Windows let you get the ID of the close control I could do it without the window showing. But because it's in the window frame the spy won't show any ID.

At least this way I don't have to click on the stupid 'x' manually.
Maybe I'll find a better way later but with macro stuff clunky is
kind of acceptable anyway.
