Sound is slower then video.

Use the Vista codec pack - you'll like it a lot better than the CCC and it *works*

Well, sorry to say that I have the Vista Codecs (you have to install both packs, the 32bit first and then the 64bit) and it works in MCE, WiMP 32bit, and WiMP 64bit, and just about any other player I have tried installing (I am still a big fan of WinAmp)....

Yeah, I have had that issue once using *non* SPDIF sound - especially when I increased the volume. I have no idea why, but it occurred when I upgraded the RealTek HD Audio drivers from ver 1.93 (which is what came with my motherboard drivers disc, or else was installed by Windows Update) to 1.94 - I had to turn the sound down massive, anything over 50% gave that massive electro-Matrix feedback - and since I run my sound through my Stereo Audio Visual receiver pumping out 100+ W per channel, it got loud - quick.

You might try taking a look at Guru3D - Driver Sweeper - it will sweep your audio driver as well, and then you can install the Vista codecs the *correct way, (32bit first and then the 64bit) and then install the latest RealTek audio drivers (of course, you'll need the right brand if your audio is not RealTek)_and see if that makes a difference.

The only tme I have heard of this problem before is when editing video and a separate sound stream using the mpeg2 sound format.

Because of the group of files (gop) nature of compressed video it sends the audio out of sinc as the video is played, so that by the end of the video there is a noticable out of sync issue.

converting the audio to .wav files and re-encoding seems to fix it but I'm not sure that's the problem here.
