Hey, I use my headset sometimes, and when I use them I hear sound from the headset and from the computer (laptop) How do I stop the sound coming out from the laptops speakers? Because I only want sound in my headphones when they are plugged in and not both of them.

Excause my bad english, I hope you understand me!
Thank you!

I am using Vista 32 Home Premium

what program do you have that manages your sound?
for example, Realtek HD Audio Manager.
it probably has a setting that needs to be changed.

If it only does it while your playing a game, then its a setting in the game. if it does it while your watching a youtube video then there is something not set right in the sound settings as suggested above.

The problem isn't with the driver; rather it's with the front panel interface. The Realtek HD codec supports both the HD and AC'97 front panel connections. However, muting of the rear panel speakers when headphones are plugged into the front socket only occurs if you have a HD front panel interface. Muting does not occur with an AC'97 type front panel.

Well thank you I understand that, but how do I mute the front panel?

And yes, I am sure that Iplugged the headset in the correct sockets, because its only 2 on my computer,(laptop) One for the mic and one for the soundset so :)
But, short answer, yes I am sure.

i have realtek hd audio manager as well, but no hd front panel interface like kristoff, so why is he getting the sound from both headset and speakers and i only get one of each?
(i have tested i just used some mp3 speakers and they work fine)

It's just that I noticed in your images that when the headset was plugged in, it was showing microphone/line-in, and when it was unplugged it was showing nothing.
