Ok currently i am running these specs for my computer.

8 GB RAM

AMD 64 x2 dual core 6000+

500GB SATA

Windows Vista Home Premium

Alright the issues that i have been having are as follows.

The system will not go into sleep mode. i have checked the settings in windows itself to make sure it is setup correctly and it is. I have also installed another OS Windows XP 64 Professional and that will go into sleep mode. I do not know what is causing it but when the sleep button on the start menu i clicked it will act like it is going to go into sleep mode then instantly wake itself up without actually reaching sleep.

the other issues that i am having is that explorer.exe (desktop) continually crashes. one this subject i have absolutely no idea as to what to do. i get a popup around every five minutes that says

Explorer.exe has stopped working
(options below)
Wait for program to respond
Close Program and check for solution
Close the program

i have tried all three and it will just close anyway or freeze the computer and i will have to end the process and manually restart the explorer.exe through new task function on the task manager. please any one who might know how to fix this let me know. this has become a serious issue since i have lost an amazing amount of data because of it.
as of right now i am using xp to find solutions before i try it again. but i would rather be ablet o utilize the full hardware capabilities.

Update graphics and storage drivers "just in case".

I have updated all the drivers to the original ones. i will have to reinstall and wait till it does it again. right now i have been running xp 64 professional, but it is not compatible with Mcafee at all. i will be switching back to vista soon and once i do within the next few days i will post what they tell me,

that was the first thing i did with the sleep function. i have researched the sleep issue and i have tried most if not all of the "solutions" none short of installing a new OS work. i have tried installing a new OS and when done the computer will actually sleep.
