small vista problem "maybe"

Hi

just got my first laptop computer Acer aspire 7730ZG 3 gb memory with vista home premium pk 1

The Blue working light is working all the time never ceases,on my desktop this does not happern unless you are doing something,is this normal for a laptop or is this a fault, thank you for any information and for reading this

Hello Holttum, and welcome to Vista Forums.

One is your power light. It will always flash to indicate that your laptop is active. It will not stop until the laptop is turned off, or goes to sleep or hibernates. It may also change to another color (Lt. purple for me) when charging.

If you mean your hard drive activity lite, then you can run Resource Monitor and look under the Disk tab to help see what is using the hard drive so much.
