i just updated by right clicking so i automatically connected to the internet to get the updated drivers and installed

Always update from the mfg site. Windows usually finds the wrong driver, or a very outdated one. I see your using an hp so download the drivers from hp's site.

Right click the task bar and open task manager, choose the network tab. What is your link speed?

hey i bough new hp laptop which has windows vista 64 bit and am sure there is no virus in it as its brand new but the internet is so slow that am getting like 50 kbps and used to get 1.7 mb before. there is no prob wid the network coz my bro is having the same speed i used to get before am sure there is some prob wid the os,please help me how to fix this prob coz its so irritating to wait for simple pages to load for min and downloads are so horrible .

if you go into your router settings what speed does it say your synced with your exchange at??
