Solved Size of Windows?

I started by setting up "Switch between Windows" Now I would like to do away with this feature. Tired of the windows opening up in half size and I have to go to Restore each time I want to look at the whole picture. Full Screen is what I want. Thanks This is Vista.

Hello Bud,

I'm not sure of what you mean. Are you saying that when you use "Switch between Windows" (Flip 3D), the open windows do display as they were opened before when selected in Flip 3D??

When I turn on the machine, go to desktop and click open my first window, it comes up in a reduced size and I have to go up in the corner and click on Maximum to fill the screen. The 3D feature I want to get away from it and even though I have sent it to the Recycle Bin, the windows do not open full screen.

Can you maximize the screen, and then in the Organize and search options, choose remember each folder's view settings in the view menu.

What window are you opening?

For a Windows Explorer window, you can maximize it and close the window. That particular Windows Explorer should open afterwards for how it was closed last for that particular Windows Explorer window from that particular location (ex: opening Computer from Start Menu vs Windows Explorer). Each folder has it's own set of folder view settings that are remembered for it instead.

This has nothing to do with Flip 3D "Switch between Windows" though.

In regard solely to the issue of maximizing your window size, in addition to what Shawn and the other posters have mentioned, try this method to keeping your windows maximized to your full screen size. Open up the first window, and put your cursor on one of the four edges. Manually drag that edge all the way out to the edge of your desktop. Then, do the same thing with each of the other 3 edges, so that when you're finished, the window fills the entire page. Reboot your computer once, or even twice if necessary, and Vista should always 'remember' the new window size after that.

Vista sometimes does keep the settings, but sometimes it does not. I now use the shortcut keys alt + spacebar and then X to maximize a window.

Windows 7 opens all Windows Explorer windows with the same size and position as how it was for the last Windows Explorer window that was closed. :)
