Solved Side by Side Error

Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis.

I have 5 Critical Errors all read the same, it caused a rundll32 error for mmsys.cpl

Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data - it was written for Windows 7 but also works for Vista.

yes, and in the preview the attachment was there will try again

Odd - that's the second file I've had problems opening in the past 24 hours - I eventually had to use 7-zip to do it as both Windows and WinRAR failed

There is no obvious error in the CBS logs - but also no SFC log either.
Did you run SFC? if so, what error message was displayed?

I did one on my laptop found 4 bad sectors lol.... but the problem is my desktop .... will run again now

mmmmm interesting, ran sfc /scannow ... no log in the CBS folder

There is a world of difference between SFC - which scans files - and CHKDSK - which reports bad sector errors.

If you have Microsoft .net framework 4 (client) or later installed, you should find it in Control Panel, Programs and Features and click on it as to uninstall it. Select the Repair option. After it is finished, reboot.

I have tried uninstalling and resinstalling all of the Visual C++, and also .Net Framework, still no joy

The Dropbox file appears to be 3 bytes long - and empty
It's also not the information that I asked for.
