Permissions
Click on everyone - remove
click on add
advanced
find now to find your user
OK
On Share permissions screen highlight the user
click full control.

That would be your username you login to your computer with.

There is no laptop username on the list on the desktop.

The user is the name found at the login screen and at the top of the Vista-orb-Start-Menu.

I would suggest calling a friend who has done it and have them do it for you.

Right, did the above but still no luck.
The 'shared' folder won't share.
